Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?

Very well, in my last writing, I have dealt with the idea of an absolute (to some extent, dictatorial) government. As I have said, the ruler would be chosen by merit and wisdom. He (or she) would need to deserve to be the leader. But there are problems. What measures the merit of somebody? What measures his (or her) wisdom? Who can judge it?

Nobody can stand up and say "I deserve, I must be the leader", because it cannot be assured. And the personal opinion of somebody about himself (or herself) is worthless. A measure of merit, wisdom or deservance must be impartial. However, there is no such a thing. If there is no such method, who is wise enough (and reliable enough) to jugde the others? And, on their turn, who can judge them? And so forth. Who can judge the judges? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Not to forget, we are abolishing here the "God's Will", or some related claims, so used by fanatics, lunatics and dishonests along the ages. NOBODY can talk by any God, neither proclaim its will. Out of question.

Of course, we were dealing with the idea of a fair governor in an ideal setup of meritocracy. This is, by no means, real or even feasible in a country, for example. And it is not a good idea to count on other one's honestity. So, there is no other paths for our dictator then charisma and (when needed) force. Of course, he (she) must use his (her) charisma to show his (her) merits.

Don't forget using your neurons!!!
